Fundraising

Get involved, do a sponsored event for Thistle Boxer Rescue

Keep an eye out on our social media pages, as we regular advertise ways that you can help and get involved.  This year volunteers donated and raised awareness of the Charity through a series of fundraising activities.  These ranged from setting up a Birthday Fundraiser on Facebook, through to getting active and holding a sponsored event on our behalf.

Both the Kiltwalk and the Big Dog Walk  are already advertising how to get involved next year.  Thistle Boxer Rescue is a registered charity for both events.

If you want to do something to help and you are unsure how to go about this, please do get in touch info@thistleboxerrescue.org.uk and one of the team will be only too happy to give you some further information.

There are numerous ways to help and below are some
of the events that are volunteers were involved in during the year:

Sponsored Walks

Aberdeen Kiltwalk
Libby, Ashley and Kerry-Lee walked 26.2 miles as part of the Aberdeen Virtual Kiltwalk in September.

Whilst there was a distinct lack of kilts and people this year, it was a wonderful way to get some exercise and raise funds for the Charity.

Sponsored Bike Rides

Michael and Leyland took to their bikes and did a sponsored bike ride. Along with their next door neighbour Craig, raised lots of donations for the Charity after hearing about one of our dogs that needed some extra medical help.

Emily popped on her cycling helmet and along with her Dad, cycled 100km in aid of Thistle Boxer Rescue.  She was inspired by the stories from this year and the dogs that had come into our care.

Stalls

The team braved the weather back in September and held a stall at the Portabella Market in Edinburgh.  The team were on hand to share information about the rescue, whilst raising much needed funds.

We are delighted to be partnering with Jollyes – The Pet People,  Port Glasgow store and being their Charity of Choice.

We receive regular dog food donations for generous customers, along with having a charity collection tin in store.

We also have regular stalls throughout the year where you can come and meet some of the team and buy some amazing merchandise, or win some of our raffle prizes.

The Dog Lovers Show

Thistle Boxer Rescue had a stall at The Dog Lovers Show in Aberdeen to raise awareness of our charity and what we do. It was so lovely chatting to people who love boxers, meeting some of our followers and introducing new people to the rescue. Thanks to everyone who came along to support us.
